Lenders, investors, and regulatory agencies require certified audits when making decisions about your business. The State of Florida and the Federal Securities and Exchange Commission require that only Certified Public Accountants may legally attest to financial statements prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Establishing an audit process that meets the requirements of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards specifically tailored to your business is what we accomplish at Berkovits & Company, LLP. Our Partners are involved in all stages of an audit, allowing us to design the audit to meet professional standards while maintaining fees at a reasonable and competitive level.

As part of your audit team, the partners become knowledgeable of your Company’s business plan and mission statement, and consult with respect to formulating strategies required to access capital markets. We spend considerable time guiding our clients through SEC compliance requirements. We advise clients on annual, quarterly, and special reports, as well as, handling frequent and diverse regulatory matters. We are also available to consult with respect to formal and informal SEC investigations.

Our clients rely on us to assist them with their regulatory, accounting and disclosure matters, whether it’s the SEC, the Government Accounting Office, or other Federal or State agencies, toward the common goal of a successful transaction consummation, reporting and disclosure. These transactions involve equity or debt financing, mergers, acquisition or divestiture or merely the accounting for a contract.

Audits

We perform the audit in accordance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards which may include: tests of your accounting records; confirmation and corroboration of information with outside third parties; inventory and equipment observations and testing; and obtaining written representations and assertions from management and legal counsel. When we accept a client, we evaluate the integrity of the management team and the owners, as well as, the control environment in order to determine the extent of our audit procedures. We expect that management will assist us during the course of the audit in order to maintain fees to a minimum level. We are constantly in discussion with our clients throughout the year and during the audit fieldwork, in order to mitigate and/or avoid reporting or disclosure issues.
